Under secondment from Baringa, as part of the Aladdin Climate team at BlackRock, I helped develop and enhance models that quantify the financial impacts of climate risk on companies and sectors. My work focused on modelling low-carbon transition pathways for energy and utility firms, using climate scenarios, financial data, and literature to inform investment insights.• Led the development of Python-based modelling functionality to assess climate-related capital expenditure and technology deployment under transition scenarios.• Built analytical frameworks to estimate future market dynamics for low-carbon technologies, grounded in data-driven research and future energy projections. • Applied climate scenario analysis to evaluate company-level exposure to climate risks and opportunities across multiple time horizons.• Developed a comprehensive QA framework to test and validate financial modelling outputs at scale.• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and engaging with senior stakeholders, consistently receiving strong client feedback for clarity, ownership, and technical delivery.• Used data analytics and research to provide sector insights and support engagement with senior stakeholders and clients.Technical skills: Python, Excel, Climate scenario analysis, low-carbon transition modelling, energy systems research, decarbonisation pathways, financial impact analysis
