Prepare and analyze environmental samples using both standard and complex testing according to scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins TestAmerica’s Quality Assurance programs and SOPs. Validate and review data for accuracy through final review. • Operate, load, maintain and troubleshoot HPLCs and LC/MS instruments and methods used for analysis of PFAS. Evaluate chromatography using integration software to identify and quantitate concentrations of compounds in samples. Maintain log books and records for various instruments for quality assurance purposes. Revise and update SOPs.• Process and evaluate raw data sets with multiple calculation based software applications. Identify failures to determine qualified data sets. Track trends across individual samples, data sets and historical results. Utilize LIMS systems to document anomalies and generate final data assessment reports for delivery to the client.• Hazardous waste management-trained and tested for general awareness, function specific, safety and security in accordance with the US Dept. of Transportation and the requirements of the International Air Transport Association. Responsibilities include: proper sealing and maintenance of hazardous waste barrels, change and replacement of satellite waste containers from all areas of the laboratory, tracking of hazard waste barrels during storage and appropriate disposal compliance with VT-DEP and EPA regulations.• Environmental Health and Safety Officer. Responsible for implementation of new and current safety guidelines, identification of areas for improvement, conduct of safety inspections/audits and ensuring that any outcomes are addressed. Train new hires in all methods and safety regulations.• Participate in audits by federal and state government agencies as well as outside organizations to ensure compliance with applicable standards of testing and outcomes in order to maintain accreditations for the laboratory.
