About Kurt Gosselin
My practice involves the representation of a wide array of financial services companies in state and federal litigation including class actions. I regularly defends financial services providers against individual and class claims brought pursuant to RESPA, TILA, FCRA, FDCPA, and TCPA. Additionally, I defends mortgage lenders, servicers, and other financial services providers against borrower complaints alleging violations of state statutes, wrongful foreclosures, and debt collection statutes.I have worked on litigation in state and federal courts involving antitrust, residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), credit default swaps (CDS), and benchmark rates. I also represented a major credit reporting agency in Fair Credit Reporting Act litigation. My pro bono practice has included prisoners rights litigation, asylum work for immigrant women, children, and LGBTQ+ individuals, family law matters for underserved populations, and research and analysis for improved city services public policy advocacy. While in law school, I served as Managing Editor for the N.Y.U. Journal of Legislation and Public Policy and published a student note analyzing the interests involved in creating a state regulatory regime for autonomous vehicles. I also served as a research assistant and Civil Procedure teaching assistant to Professor Helen Hershkoff, earned semifinalist honors in the 2014-15 Marden Moot Court competition, and interned at the US Attorney\'s Office for the Eastern District of New York.Prior to law school, I committed two years to help close the education achievement gap by teaching high school math in St. Louis as a Teach For America corps member. I also coached Mock Trial and Policy Debate. I was then selected to serve as an Urban Leaders Policy Fellow in Memphis where he worked on electoral campaigns for Stand For Children and consulted on substantive city policy for Memphis City Councilman Lee Harris.
