They are the most dominating phytoplankton with an overall number of around species having complex variability in dimensions and shapes.Diatoms produce 20-30% of the air we breatheThrough carbon fixation, diatoms remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. The CO2 is converted to organic carbon in the form of sugar, and oxygen (O2) is released. We breathe the oxygen that diatoms release. Keeping the planet cool with Diatoms is a campaign focused on raising about the potential that microalgae or Diatoms have in CO2 removal and bioremediation.I play my part to support this campaign.
