ABOUT KUMARJIT DE
Kumarjit works across social and public policy with a focus on gender, labour, digital identity, and the lived realities of marginalised communities. With an academic foundation in Psychology, Sociology, and Economics, followed by an MSc in International Social and Public Policy (Development) at the LSE, he approaches policy questions through an interdisciplinary and grounded lens. He graduated as valedictorian from his undergraduate programme and later received the Titmuss Prize for Best Overall Performance during his postgraduate degree. His work sits at the intersection of bureaucracy, access, and the quieter forms of power that shape how policy is implemented on the ground. In navigating these systems, he is particularly interested in how data can illuminate structural inequalities while still remaining attentive to the human stories underneath; balancing analytical clarity with an understanding of lived experience.Influenced by decolonial thinking, Kumarjit aims to question inherited assumptions and centre perspectives often overlooked in dominant policy narratives. Across his academic and professional path, he strives to engage with policy in ways that are critical, thoughtful, and rooted in the complexities of everyday life.
