About Kuber Reddy Gorantla
I am an Applied Scientist II at Amazon Ads, working on Generative AI and multimodal models to improve ad relevance at scale. My work focuses on designing and training LLM-based systems, applying multi-objective optimization techniques, and advancing relevance across large-scale search and recommender systems. I bridge applied research and production-grade machine learning, translating cutting-edge ideas into scalable solutions that improve user experience and business outcomes through close collaboration with science, engineering, and product teams.I previously worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Siemens Technology, where I applied deep learning and computer vision techniques to build and enhance intelligent systems. My work included developing large language models (LLMs), researching multimodal foundation models (MLLMs, VLMs), and building RAG pipelines. I translated complex Transformer-based object detection algorithms into production-ready features and developed document and image analysis systems that convert unstructured data into structured outputs. I also contributed AI-driven strategies for advancing augmented and virtual reality applications. My technical expertise spans object detection, semantic segmentation, video analysis, VAEs, GANs, Transformers, diffusion models, and LLMs.Before Siemens, I worked at ChemImage Corporation as a Computer Vision Scientist, where I developed deep learning and computer vision algorithms for complex medical imaging applications. I designed multimodal image registration pipelines, strengthening my skills in pattern recognition, problem-solving, and technical documentation. After completing my Master of Science with a focus on machine learning for intelligent systems, I joined ChemImage. During my master’s program, I developed a novel machine learning approach to evaluate surgical skills in robot-assisted surgery, enabling feedback-driven improvements in surgical training and patient care.Throughout my career, I have remained committed to solving real-world problems through innovative and scalable AI-driven solutions, a focus that continues to shape my work today.
