About Katie Katherine Cagen

Born and raised New Yorker, gamer, artist, Mets fan, amateur golfer, professional nerd. Electrical Engineer with over 11 years of experience in hardware design and manufacturing.I recently joined Amazon Project Kuiper, where I am working on hardware design for our satellites. If you\'re interested in joining me, let me know - my team is hiring!Prior to this I was at Facebook Reality Labs as an electrical engineer supporting AR/VR hardware research. I worked on research into novel electronic materials and manufacturing techniques to enable compelling AR/VR experiences. This involved design and production of prototypes using these materials/techniques as well as cross-functional design and support of testing, characterization, and new research directions.Before that I was a hardware development engineer (in electrical engineering) at Amazon Prime Air focusing on board level PCB design (block diagram, schematic, layout, manufacturing, bring-up, and system integration) for sensors and computers. I was also previously an electrical engineer at Microsoft working in a hardware dev role for motherboard/main PCBs on the Surface Pro line of products. I graduated with a bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering from Harvard with an interest in hands-on electronics design and application.
