ABOUT KSHITIJA GURAV

I was born and raised in India. Growing up as a military kid meant traveling, changing cities, and attending multiple schools, which gave me a lifelong ability to adapt to new environments and fostered a keen sense of curiosity, for which I am grateful. My recent move to Berlin has yet again highlighted the impermanent nature of everything as I started fresh. It continues to remind me of the bittersweet beauty of change, learning, and unlearning. Over the years, I’ve built a multidisciplinary design practice shaped by 5 years of experience across the art, design, culture, music, retail, and F&B industries, mainly in India. My expertise includes: • Branding & identity design • Concept development • Digital marketing design • Visual & Print design • New media design • Event design and curation • Publication design My approach to design involves structure and experimentation—a balance between unconventional ideas and visual coherence. I’m detail-oriented but also welcome the creative mess that comes with experimentation, a.k.a organized chaos. I love juxtaposing different worlds and concepts, both online and offline, and creating well-structured presentations that guide the viewer’s eye and read as a visual journey. Nothing makes me happier than playing matchmaker with typography and color theories. My resilience, adaptability, and open-mindedness have made me a reliable team player in my previous roles and in my recent work in Berlin, where I served as the design lead for a large-scale New Media art symposium. My recent experiments in speculative design, part of my Master’s thesis, have opened new paths for me to explore fields like critical design, foresight design research, futures thinking, restorative and ecological design, and the discourse of new materialism. I am currently interested in opportunities at the intersection of new media design and visual communication design. Through hands-on projects in my Master’s course, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of tangibility in design as a medium. As my practice develops, I’ve learned that grounding my work in academic research and concepts with a solid foundation is crucial. Authenticity, empathy, adaptability, and collaboration are at my core. I am a dedicated learner who performs well under pressure and approaches challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time where the cats are, exploring art exhibits, reading, or cooking hearty vegan meals.
