Create and test signatures for the Qualys Cloud Platform product to detect vulnerabilities in the areas of databases, applications, operating system, TCP/IP protocols and network devices;• Track current security vulnerabilities and attack vectors, and develop countermeasures using Python;• Analyze and research the latest vulnerabilities and exploits that affect various operating systems, applications, and network devices;• Research on zero-day attacks and create remote signatures to identify vulnerable assets;• Conduct network/computer penetration testing and analyze protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SQL, RPC, SSL, SSH and SNMP;• Write automation scripts to update vulnerability solutions for operating systems, TCP/IP protocols and network devices;• Research and write new system capabilities in the form of Lua functions to support signature development efforts; and• Coordinate with other information security engineers to execute internal projects as needed.
