About Krystyn J. van Vliet
As the Vice President for Innovation & External Engagement at Cornell University, I work with fantastic teams that accelerate ideas to impact across the university and campuses in Ithaca, Geneva, and New York City, New York. From technology-driven partnerships to commercialization, to incubating Cornell-rooted startups, to working with companies that partner with our colleges, initiatives, faculty, and students, Cornell\'s innovation orchard extends well beyond the vibrant campuses. My research focuses on the coupling between chemistry and mechanics at material interfaces, with applications ranging from renewable energy systems to cell therapies and drug screening. I co-founded Artificial Axon Labs, a biotech startup targeting neural regeneration and repair. These experiences in research, teaching, entrepreneurship, and support of academic research translation propel me to help teams across Cornell to thrive in bringing great ideas to patients and to market.
