ABOUT KRYSTLE STRICKLIN
Art historian, curator, and educator, currently working as Assistant Curator of Photography at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. I earned my PhD in Art History from the University of Pittsburgh, where I specialized in the history of photography and visual culture of the United States, particularly legacies of war and empire. My dissertation examines photographs of violence and death found in private albums from the War of 1898 and Philippine-American War, 18••••13. Additionally, I am an adjunct assistant professor of art history at the University of Notre Dame. I teach an undergraduate course titled,\"Art of Democracy: Museums and Monuments in Washington DC.\"
