About Kritee Chopra
As an Assistant Professor of Political Science, I teach and conduct research on political theory, comparative politics, and international relations, with a particular emphasis on ethnic politics and regional dynamics in China. My scholarly work is motivated by a long-standing interest in issues of nationalism, identity, and how state policy influences minority experiences and political affiliation.I publish and present on several academic forums, attempting to connect rigorous theoretical study with current global and regional issues. In the classroom, I place a strong focus on critical thinking, enabling students to connect political concepts to current global events and to develop their own analytical voices.Along with teaching and research, I am highly committed to mentoring and supporting aspiring PhD scholars and early-career researchers. I am interested in developing intellectual environments that are open about the obstacles of research while remaining based in curiosity, resilience, and purpose.Beyond the university, I am actively involved in public scholarship, interdisciplinary collaborations, and think tank initiatives aiming at making political science relevant to current social and policy concerns.
