About Kristy Levert
My current position as Senior Director of Engagement for Division at Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society combines my skills in coaching public administration, event planning, creating connections and a passion for education. Previously, I worked for over 12 years for Ivy Tech Community College most recently as the Director of Student Life and Support Services. Additionally, I was the Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisor for Alpha Rho Sigma. I have been a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach since April 2021 and have used these skills with students, staff and faculty throughout Ivy Tech Community College and beyond. I completed my Masters Degree in Public Affairs at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a concentration in Public Management in May 2010. All the positions I have held within the Parks Department and at Ivy Tech require a significant amount of event planning, coordination, communication and fundraising, including the Performing Arts Series, A Fair of the Arts Series, and many other one time events. In addition, I handle all aspects of scheduling as well as event day management for the Performing Arts Concert Series. I also coordinate all aspects of the A Fair of the Arts program, a juried fine arts fair that takes place monthly. In my work at the Banneker Center, I hired and trained staff members for the After School Adventure Program. Further, in my work in Community Events, we depend heavily on volunteers, many of which are students. I have strong communication skills that I have developed through presenting at conferences. I have also studied overseas with various dignitaries and foreign officials and am comfortable in a variety of social situations. Additionally, I have been interviewed regularly by the local press and am comfortable talking to large or small groups of people. I worked on the Steering Committee for the B-line Trail Switchyard Master Plan and have helped develop the RFQ, select the consultant team, and will assist with project management, as well as the public input process.
