ABOUT KRISTY KNAPP

Passionate about customer experience. I want to create clean designs that allow customers to flow. Helping them complete tasks with out friction or roadblocks. My goal is to design environments with diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in mind. I thrive in environments that appreciate dedication, hard work, and iteration. A maker all my life I decided to study graphic design and photography in college. Only late in my studies did I become interested in web design and coding. Spending extra time outside of class work I learned how to write HTML, CSS, and some ActionScript. Since I have learned basics of other coding languages, libraries, and frameworks. This learning lead to experiments focused on finding efficiency and reducing risks. Internships, freelance, and full-time positions have provided experience in many mediums. This includes branding, logo design, small website design, and larger enterprise website maintenance. These jobs have allowed me to hone skills coding HTML, CSS, and JS for web sites and emails. As well as, designing wire frames, user interface, and user experince.Part of a diverse family, I sought out international travel and work experiences. This has expanded my view of the world and my understanding of other cultures and religions. I spent 5 months in Hong Kong leading efforts to redesign a website with Drupal. This project included writing the RFP, interviewing vendors, and contact negotiations. I partnered with a team in India to maintain documents with partial automation in a mobile app. Most recently, I have worked with a scrum team in India as a product owner for web sites. My experience spans across industries. Including restaurant, retail, magazine, music, non-profit, outdoor, marketing, and financial services.
