About Kristopher Engdall
From military medicine to federal leadership and now statewide systems consulting, my career has centered on strengthening behavioral health access for the communities that need it most.I am the Founder and Principal Consultant of Public Health Strategy Partners LLC, where I support New Mexico’s implementation of the Behavioral Health Reform and Investment Act (SB3/BHRIA). My work focuses on crisis system modernization, regional governance development, Early Access planning, 988/911 interoperability, and multi-agency coordination across HCA, BHSD, AOC, UNM, DFA, and regional collaborators. I also provide technical assistance through the SMVF TA Center and the Region 6 Opioid Response Network, supporting suicide prevention, crisis response, and behavioral health initiatives across veteran, military, and rural communities. Before launching my consulting practice, I served as the Regional Behavioral Health Advisor for SAMHSA Region 6, working across NM, OK, AR, LA, and TX on crisis systems, disaster behavioral health, CCBHC expansion, and equity-focused public health strategies. My earlier career in the U.S. Army and in clinical cardiology and respiratory care shaped my commitment to service, operational excellence, and outcome-driven work.Across every chapter—clinical, federal, and state systems—I am driven by a single purpose: building healthier, more resilient communities through practical, coordinated, and sustainable behavioral health solutions. If you\'re working on statewide system transformation, crisis coordination, SB3/BHRIA implementation, or veteran-focused behavioral health initiatives, I’d be glad to connect.
