ABOUT KRISTIN ANDERSON OSTROM

A systems change leader with extensive experience leading rural strategies to advance public interest and nonprofit excellence. Public Interest: Vision, Systems Thinking & Relational Organizing As a nonprofit leader, I love to organize people and lead strategies to advance progressive change. I combine systems thinking, policy and political analysis and relational organizing skills to empower people and lead campaigns (issue, community organizing, electoral). I\'ve lobbied at the federal, state and local levels, led nonprofits and diverse coalitions and earned media. As a certified Master Mediator, I employ interest-based mediation skills to facilitate multiple stakeholder collaborations. Focus: rural; working class/poverty; immigration; civil rights. I\'ve been privileged to engage and learn from diverse strategies: From direct lobbying in Washington, D.C, state legislatures, and cities, to mobilizing and direct democracy through ballot initiatives, to relational and grassroots organizing. From deep data dives (Kids Count; Center on Budget and Policy Priorities), to stories that empower and communicate, to messaging frameworks and digital organizing. From coalitions of national and state lobbyists, to collective impact and stakeholder collaborations at the state and local levels seeking long-term systems solutions.
