About Kristin Helvey

Kristin has practiced public relations in Alaska for more than a decade. Her teams have received numerous awards for event planning, communication materials and campaign design, including a 2017 Public Relations Society of America national Silver Anvil for crisis communications and a 2021 PRSA national Silver Anvil for brand/reputation management. Throughout her career, she has built unique and extensive experience in communication strategy, multicultural communications, community relations and project management. Inspired by the potential strategic communication has to effect positive change, Kristin opened Helvey Communications in 2010 and now consults with and assists organizations in improving both internal communications and external community standing. She works with clients across various community sectors, including corporate, nonprofit, faith based, education and tribal. Kristin completed a master’s degree in business administration to ensure a keen understanding of how communication relates to and influences business priorities. She now teaches Marketing at Alaska Pacific University and serves as an officer and board member for PRSA Alaska Chapter. Kristin is accredited in public relations from PRSA and represents the Alaska market in the national PRConsultants Group. She was also named a PRSA North Pacific District PR Practitioner of the Year finalist.

   I am the PRConsultants Group member representing the Alaska market.
