   The Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Community College Program goal is to increase number of historically underrepresented community college students who transfer to universities and earn STEM bachelor’s degrees.Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership and coordination of the MESA program, including training of other MESA personnel. Demonstrate cultural competencies required to work with students from broadly different backgrounds.Plan and oversee recruitment/outreach activities, orientation activities, and events for MESA students, including campus visits, scholarship fairs, workshops, award and graduation celebrations. Coordinate with statewide MESA administration and the Auburn community to successfully implement the approved elements of the MESA program. Serve as a resource director for MESA students – directing them to appropriate resources for tutoring, financial aid, advising, counseling and other services.Provide mentorship, coaching and support for MESA student. Supervise and evaluate MESA program staff, provide clear expectations, advice, direction, evaluations, and professional and career development opportunities. Act as MESA program liaison for faculty and advisors.Manage MESA program budget. Track and provide transfer data, success data for MESA students, and other relevant data pertaining to students and MESA activities. Analyze, summarize and use data to make informed decisions about MESA related projects and programs.Coordinate and collaborate with student support programs on campus to develop, coordinate and integrate activities: Career and Advising Center; TRiO; Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Basic Skills, and Recruitment/Outreach.Create and lead workshops to increase student knowledge about financial literacy, internships and research programs, study skills, scholarships, and resumes/Linkedin.
