Four years ago I started negotiations with Holt International Children\'s Services, thinking it would be best if the organization I\'d built over 30 years, Hawaii International Child (HIC), were absorbed by Holt. Fast forward to a few months ago, I am now honored to serve on the Holt Board of Directors, I rebranded HIC into A Family Tree, and things could not have worked out better. Take away: Work hard, use creative vision whenever possible, and remain flexible. Sometimes opportunity hides in the weirdest places.
