About Kristin Baillie

I serve as the District Behavior Specialist and MTSS Coordinator for Edenton-Chowan Public Schools and am a doctoral candidate in Leadership & Innovation at Arizona State University. My research explores how narrative identity, counterstorytelling, and intersectionality illuminate student experiences with exclusionary discipline in rural settings. My dissertation, Countering Exclusion: Stories of Intersectionally Marginalized Youth, uses qualitative narrative inquiry to examine how race, gender, disability, and place shape disciplinary encounters and belonging.I hold an M.Ed. from Elon University, a B.S. in Elementary Education from Elizabeth City State University, and licensure in ESL, AIG, and Special Education. In my district role, I lead MTSS systems development, restorative practice implementation, and behavioral intervention design. My recent projects include the RE³ restorative ISS model and the L.E.A.D. data analysis protocol.I am also the founder of Edventures, LLC. Edventures connects policy insight, advocacy, and narrative truth through curated resources, practical perspectives, and reflections drawn from lived experience. We are committed to strengthening educational systems by centering students, families, and communities.I am excited this year to learn as a 2025–2026 NC Public School Forum Education Policy Fellow and a National LiberatED Fellow.
