Kristin Appenbrink is a freelance writer and editor with more than ten years of experience at women’s lifestyle publications. She is currently a contributing editor for Apartment Therapy’s The Kitchn, and contributes to Tasting Table, LearnVest, and Oprah.com among others. In addition to editorial work, Kristin works with marketing and public relations firms to provide social copy and reported articles for their clients.Prior to going freelance, she served as the editorial director of Brit + Co, a site dedicated to creative living. Before joining Brit + Co, Kristin was the senior editor of RealSimple.com. She was part of the Real Simple family for more than six years.In addition to writing and editing, Kristin has made frequent television appearances on both national and local programs such as the Today Show, Weekend Today, Good Morning America, CBS Up to the Minute, HLN, ABC News Now, and LX TV in New York.Originally from the midwest, Kristin grew up in Kansas City and is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where she studied magazine journalism, graphic design, and women’s studies. Since leaving the midwest, Kristin has lived in both New York and San Francisco.
