About Kristina Kopf Thomas
I spend my days working to help real-estate investors — private-equity funds, publicly held REITs and large companies with significant real-estate holdings — achieve their goals. Over time, I’ve developed a mastery of the structural challenges unique to real-estate investors, as well as “dirt law,” meaning all the legal requirements associated with the acquisition and disposition of real-estate assets.I was first attracted to real-estate law — and remain very happy working in it — because real estate is, at its heart, a relationship business. Helping my clients solve their problems in that world is a great pleasure of my working life. My practice at Eversheds Sutherland (US), LLP rests primarily on three key areas of concern to real-estate investors- Private equity real-estate fund formation- Joint ventures between real-estate investors and developers- The acquisition, disposition and financing of real-estate assetsI believe my deep experience in these three areas and my approach to relationship management have turned me into a solid and trusted adviser to my clients. I take pride in my ability to be a steadying force when the unexpected happens, as it often does in real-estate negotiations.
