About Kristina Grabbe
I’m a public health scientist with over 20 years of experience advancing HIV programs, infectious disease prevention, and health systems strengthening in both global and U.S. settings. My career has focused on working across sectors—with government agencies, national, state, and local health departments, communities, and donors—to translate evidence into policy and practice, always with equity and access at the center. I’ve led complex, multi-country initiatives, developed national guidance, and built the capacity of health systems and partners to deliver sustainable, people-centered care. Whether implementing HIV testing scale-up in sub-Saharan Africa or standing up a community-based COVID-19 response in Baltimore, I bring a deep commitment to impact, collaboration, and community voice. Now based in Detroit, I’m passionate about contributing to the city’s continued progress through equity-driven public health work and partnerships that reflect local priorities and strengths. Let’s connect if you’re interested in health systems innovation, equitable implementation, or community-centered approaches to public health!
