ABOUT KRISTINA CANFIELD
As Executive Director of the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE), I lead a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting collegiate recovery programs and the students they serve. I oversee strategic growth initiatives, including a federal subcontract expanding ARHE’s technical assistance services, while championing community-based recovery supports across the prevention, treatment, intervention, and recovery spectrum.An accomplished keynote speaker and trainer, I’ve delivered talks and facilitated workshops for audiences of 500+ at conferences focused on behavioral health, substance use disorder, recovery, and higher education. I excel at creating engaging experiences for any audience with a goal for them to leave with tangible ideas to implement in their everyday life. At the heart of my work is a commitment to advocacy and storytelling. I bring a palpable passion to every presentation, connecting with diverse audiences across ages and cultures to reduce stigma and build communities of support. I believe that lasting recovery is rooted in connection, and I’m driven to amplify voices and policies that make those connections possible.
