ABOUT KRISTINA AUXTOVA
Interdisciplinary qualitative researcher in ethics and sustainability in marketing and consumption.Currently a Lecturer in Marketing at University of Edinburgh. My research revolves around two key areas: 1) advertising ethics & regulation - I explore the regulatory processes surrounding the use of shocking, offensive and controversial advertising within the non-profit and public sectors, as well as the discourses surrounding regulatory models, and 2) sustainable consumption - I focus on second-hand consumption and reuse, mitigating aversions towards second-hand, and the labour involved in encouraging reuse. I am particularly interested in the third sector.Research interests- Marketing communications: controversial advertising, advertising rhetoric, offensive advertising- Marketing ethics: advertising ethics, advertising regulation, ethical consumption- Sustainable consumption: second-hand consumption, reuse, charity shops, virtue ethics- Qualitative research methods: critical discourse analysis, rhetorical analysis, interviews, ethnographyLanguages spoken:Fluent in English, French, Spanish, Slovak and Czech languages and a strong understanding of their cultures.
