About Kristin Robrock
I am an environmental engineer and microbiologist specializing in the fate and transport of chemicals in the environment, such as chlorinated solvents, PFAS, petroleum, perchlorate, PCBs, and heavy metals. I am a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California. I focus on environmental forensics, investigating who is responsible for contamination and how and when contamination was released to the environment. I have also conducted CERCLA cost apportionment analyses. I have testified as an expert witness in United States District Court and Superior Court of the State of California. Personally, I enjoy traveling, biking, baking extraordinary birthday cakes and making costumes- Evaluate sources of chemical contamination at industrial facilities, including chemical handling, equipment, and sanitary sewers, as well as neighboring facilities to understand sources, timing and mechanisms of release of hazardous chemicals- Assist clients in evaluating sites impacted by PFAS, such as airports, metal platers, and biosolid application fields, and navigating regulations for consumer products- Assess the appropriateness of remediation and cleanup costs, and assist clients in understanding what they should be paying for- Assist clients in complying with vapor intrusion, PCB, and dioxin regulations

My expertise is on how chemicals behave in the environment. I focus predominantly on environmental forensics, investigating the source and timing of contaminant releases, for compounds such as chlorinated solvents, perchlorate, petroleum hydrocarbons, metals, and emerging contaminants such as PFAS. I have also work on allocation projects, determining responsibility between multiple parties responsible for contamination. In addition, I evaluate consistency with the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP). I have testified as an expert witness at deposition and trial.
