About Kristin Pierce

Kristin Pierce is the senior external communications specialist at ATC, a transmission-only electric utility company providing the vital connection between where energy is generated to where it is needed. In this role, Kristin ensures accuracy and consistency of messaging to support a variety of ATC departments. Prior to transitioning to corporate communications, Kristin spent more than a decade in the news industry. Most recently, as an award-winning journalist serving as an anchor of WISN 12 News at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Kristin is an Edward R. Murrow award winning journalist and a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association award winner. She was also a 2024 Milwaukee Journal \"40 Under 40\" recipient and honored for Excellence in Communications during the Black Excellence Awards. Kristin comes to Milwaukee from Louisville, Kentucky where she worked as a morning anchor for WHAS11. Kristin has also worked in New Orleans, Louisiana as a weekend evening anchor/reporter for WWL-TV and in her hometown Detroit, Michigan as a reporter for WXYZ/WMYD. Kristin graduated cum laude from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Sociology.She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.As a survivor of domestic violence, Kristin also works as an advocate against this type of violence. She is on the Board of Directors for Sojourner Family Peace Center, Wisconsin\'s largest nonprofit provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services, serving nearly clients annually. Hoping to make a difference in the lives of others, Kristin often shares her personal story of surviving abuse.
