As part of the Inspection leadership team, I have the opportunity to work with a group of highly experienced professionals and l use my skills and experience in auditing to lead a rigorous program of inspections of registered public accounting firms including: • Assisting inspection teams with the inspection of portions of audit workpapers to assess the degree of compliance with the Act, the rules of the Board, the Commission, or professional standards in connection with the performance of audits, issuance of reports, and related matters involving issuers; • Assessing the firms’ quality control structures and the related impact these structures have on audit quality; • Meeting and interviewing key executives at the firms to (1) understand firms’ quality control structures,(2) understand the audit approach to audit engagements, and (3) further develop and/or identify quality control and/or audit deficiencies; • Assisting inspection team members with developing and/or resolving technical issues; • Reviewing inspection team members’ findings and working papers; • Communicating the results of our findings to key firm executives; and • Preparing inspection reportsAs an Inspections Leader, I also: • Enhance my technical skills through serving as a technical advisor and consulting with other highly skilled Inspection team members; • Participate in the development and/or facilitation of training courses; • Participate in inspection projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the Inspection program; • Assist in the assignment, review, supervision and evaluation of other inspection professionals; and • Actively participate in the PCAOB’s recruiting process.
