Kristin Ahr has been practicing law for over 29 years. Ahr serves as employment and litigation counsel to a broad range of clients, public and private. Her diverse client base includes companies involved in industries of health care, manufacturing, service, insurance, automobile, tech, hospitality, media, real estate and banking/lending. Ahr also handles all aspects of commercial and civil litigation.In addition to the preventative counseling and training she provides, Ahr represents employers in federal and state courts, arbitrations and administrative tribunals in cases which include alleged violations of the FMLA, ADA, whistleblower claims, claims of sexual harassment and alleged discrimination based on race, age, national origin, gender, religion and other protected categories, including claims of retaliation. Her practice also includes litigating (and prevention of) matters involving FLSA and state wage and hour claims (including class and collective actions). Ahr has significant experience in litigation involving breaches of restrictive covenants (non-compete and non-solicitation), misappropriation/theft of trade secrets, tortious interference and claims under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and Defend Trade Secrets Act. Ahr proactively helps clients implement workplace best practices and compliance, including employee and management training (sexual harassment, diversity and the like), employee performance improvement/discipline, internal investigations, wage and hour audits and litigation avoidance. Ahr strategically and carefully prepares employee handbooks, employment contracts, non-compete agreements and severance agreements. Other areas of note are counseling clients on state, federal and international data privacy laws (prevention, reporting and compliance) and defending businesses in Federal Court in claims of ADA public accommodations/website accessibility.She has been recognized among the \"Florida Legal Elite - Notable\", “Florida Legal Elite” and as a \"Super Lawyer\" in Labor and Employment.
