I teach a wide array of areas within English including grammar, reading, writing and text analyzing. I also work alongside school administrators/ school-leadership team to help enforce an environment that is not only safe, but allows for our pupils to get the most out of their education. Some of my duties include, but are not limited to-Designing lesson plans for a variety of areas in the English subject (grammar, literature, and vocabulary development) while successfully meeting state standards-Provide assistance to Admin. Team in the way of student behavioral management-Helping develop and launch Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for teachers to engage in/learn from-Perform classroom walk-throughs and observe instructors in their classroom settings for reviews-Assisting with curriculum and Bell Work design with our English department chair-Teaching to and providing students with materials needed to pass the FSA, SAT and ACT tests-Distributing and grading tests, homework and other assignments to students-Successfully using enrichment pursuits and behavior-modification techniques as a motivator for following rules and maintaining good classroom conduct-Leading parent-teacher conferences discussing the student’s academic progress-Assisting teachers with classroom management as well as helping students when needed during a lesson-Recording data on student achievement and collaborating with teachers to help students-at-risk reach benchmark learning objectives
