   Identify and incorporate design characteristic improvements for desired fit and finish of products, with emphasis on ease-of-manufacturing and assembly of, machined, sheet metal, injection molded, vacuum-formed, cast, extruded, as well as rapid prototype and composite (crush-core and lay-up) parts with production volumes from 1 to 50k+ units/year. • Lead, with a team ranging from 3 to 30 engineers, in all phases of the product-development lifecycle, from brainstorming and sketching new product concepts, creating 3D models, developing engineering designs, mock-up and prototyping, testing, optimizing designs for commonality and modularity, supporting production and tooling, installation and aftermarket on projects worth up to 30 million/year. • Engineering liaison focal and Material Review Board member, responsible for supporting and driving communication with internal departments, and external suppliers to build products, as well as develop and improve manufacturing processes • Define BOM product structures for overhead bin projects, develop standard drawing views, dimensions, and tolerances, as well as standard notes, and Trim & Finish specifications, for simplicity of creating configurations, generating and revising 2D drawings of details and assemblies, and ease of readability by production and planning, reducing engineering workload up to 60%. • Train, mentor, and guide fellow engineers in corporate standard practices of CATIA & SmarTeam Methodology, and Engineering Design & Drafting Manual. • Lead and manage teams providing on-site and off-site support for dozens of “head of version” installations of overhead stowage bins, and interfacing options such as grip rails, ceilings, coves, ducting, PSUs, oxygen systems, class-dividers, bulkheads, and lighting for various aircraft platforms. Experience at OEM FAL and MRO operations.
