ABOUT KRISTIAN ASPINALL

As an accomplished Director, I have led and delivered improvements in community safety, cultural services, partnership working, and crime reduction. I have held various roles throughout my career focused on community priorities, including safety and reducing crime and disorder. I have led simultaneous projects covering root case and early intervention within communities as part of building public confidence. I have also consolidated and integrated intelligence information to coordinate health and crime reduction initiatives including substance abuse, ASB and other issues. In my current role I am lead Director for the London Borough of Culture 2023 in Croydon, a complex, multi-agency year long programme of arts and culture ranging from small scale experiences up to large flagship events. Having worked for two of the largest local authorities in London, I have been responsible for leading strategy and policy development in multiple areas working with a range of partners. I have managed a large budget and 200+ people service tasked with delivering front line services across Croydon, developing and delivering a complex program of cultural events to drive investment and growth in the cultural sector, coordinating and improving community safety, working in partnership and delivering multiple projects. I have led coordinated multi-agency initiatives and projects including crime reduction, culture, health, education and early intervention to tackle violence. I have evaluated criminal trends and emerging threats alongside the policing service, emergency services and community partners.I have been able to build grass root resources and leverage the wider community to support vulnerable groups and ensure there are robust plans to target key areas. I have managed strategic projects focused on anti-racism, hate crimes and violence reduction while focusing on crime reduction partnerships. I adopt a pro-active approach to budget management and ensure efficient deployment of expenditure and resources to optimise performance and drive real outcomes. I utilise my strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain partnerships as well as build and manage a high performing team. I enjoy a challenge and believe I would be a valuable addition to any team.
