Ms. Simpson holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in civil engineering focusing in geotechnical engineering from Oklahoma State University. She has 20 years’ geotechnical engineering experience that includes field work behind the drilling rig, testing in the laboratory, and technical evaluations. Areas of focus include slope stability and embankment analysis, settlement analysis, pavement evaluation and design and the mitigation of soft, expansive, sulfate and fully softened soils. Publication topics have included the properties and performance of fully softened soils and applications of sustainability in earthen structures.Ms. Simpson has been involved with the American Society of Engineers (ASCE) and the ASCE Geotechnical Institute, co-founding the Oklahoma Chapter in 2008. She serves on the National Geotechnical Institute’s Embankments, Dams and Slopes Committee. Ms. Simpson enjoys promoting engineering education for K-12 kids by participating in career days, classroom activities and ASCE’s Engineering Week.
