I believe in:Instructional Excellence: All learning needs to be relevant and engaging. Instructional practices must meet the needs of all learners within the classroom; including teaching students how to manage their time, think critically and creatively, how to communicate effectively, problem solve, and take responsibility for their own learning. Academic Excellence: All students can learn and that the foremost responsibility of the school is the student. Students learn best when schools maintain high expectations and provide rigorous coursework. The academic focus is not only on the acquisition of knowledge, but on inquiry, discovery, and the application of skills to meaningful problem solving through personal, project- based, and online learning environments. Relationship Excellence: The educational process is a partnership including the school, the family, the student and the community. Educators fully understand and engage the interests, motivations, and individual learning styles of each student. Program Excellence: Extra curricular and athletic activities are open to all students who wish to participate. It is the responsibility of the educators to cultivate and provide opportunities for students to experience fine arts, performing arts, and athletics. I believe the school provides a safe environment for students to explore personal interests and develop individual talents. Community Excellence: The community is a critical partner in the educational process. Developing partnerships within the community is the responsibility of a school leader. Businesses, non-profits, higher education institutions provide opportunities of relevant engagement for student learning. Experiences within the community provide an awareness and preparation for local, state, national, and international partnerships. Cultivating relationships with community members expands the cultural awareness and acceptance of and by students.
