ABOUT KRISTI BARON
Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile. I am an award-winning communications leader with over 20 years of experience working with local, regional and multi-national organizations. I could give you a list of things I\'ve done in my career (DM me if you want my resume!), talk about the diverse industries I\'ve worked in (like agency/consulting, energy, utilities, finance, and more) or tell you why leading teams of up to 20 people is one of the most rewarding (and challenging!) things I\'ve done. Instead, I want to share a few things you won\'t get from just my resume – the \'me\' you don\'t see in the hard facts- One of my greatest joys is learning - whether that\'s from a book, a class or a real-life experience. My ever-curious nature means I\'m always trying to make sense of the world (including business). I\'m always looking for patterns and thinking about systems.(And, no, my brain doesn\'t tend to shut off.)- Puzzles make me happy, which is why I love working on challenging and complex projects. That\'s why I\'ve enjoyed and had success with a wide range of work, from redesigning company websites to better tell their stories to issues management when a big sinkhole opened on the Olympic Torch Relay route just two days before the torch passed through- Human nature and culture are fascinating. I\'ve traveled to over 30 countries on six continents (and lived in four of those countries!) just to experience as much as I can first-hand- I \"blame\" my parents for my love of the outdoors. I was a podium-level competitive ski racer for many years. I missed it so much as an adult that I took racing up again two years ago. Now my knees hurt all the time- I like the road less traveled, so I\'ve also strapped on my backpack and tackled multi-day treks in Tanzania (Kilimanjaro summit!), Nepal (18-day Annapurna Circuit), Colombia (hiking to The Lost City, La Ciudad Perdida), and more. Those experiences fed my interest in photography.
