ABOUT KRISTEN KWOK
I’m a Master of Biomedical Innovation (MBI) Candidate at McMaster University, with a BSc in Medical Sciences and Biology from Western University. My academic journey has fuelled my passion for bridging research, innovation, and patient-centred care to transform healthcare systems. In recognition of this vision, I was awarded McMaster’s MBI 2025–2026 Female Entrepreneurship Scholarship. Currently, I’m advancing my expertise through McMaster’s Applied Clinical Research certificate, focusing on clinical trial design, research ethics, and data integrity to support patient-centred research. I’ve complemented this with hands-on skills in phlebotomy and extensive patient-facing volunteer roles, which have strengthened my commitment to accessibility, ethical care, and meaningful patient connection. Beyond academia, I bring over six years of leadership in aquatics as a lifeguard, instructor, and deck supervisor. These experiences taught me how to lead teams under pressure, mentor with empathy, and remain composed in high-pressure situations. Looking ahead, I’m eager to contribute to roles in clinical research, digital health, and biomedical innovation, with a vision to advance patient outcomes through inclusive, evidence-based solutions. I’m excited to learn from others on the same path and continue growing alongside a community dedicated to transforming healthcare.
