About Kristen Joyce Lopez
Hi! I\'m Kristen Joyce (feel free to call me Kristen, I have two first names- it\'s a filipina thing!) I\'m a rising sophomore at the College of Dupage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. I am pursuing an Associates in the Arts in Political Science and Criminology. I have a deep love for advocacy and working toward things that I care about! A few days after graduating high school, I served as a Legislative Intern. Through this experience, I began to develop my love for connecting with constituents and learning the different stories of those across the district. This then led me to applying (and landing!) a Congressional Internship for this past Spring Semester! I am a lover of learning, and working in a Congressional Office taught me far more than any historical textbook ever could. I am glad to say that I am returning as a Legislative Outreach Intern for a State Representative, and I am constantly grateful for all of these amazing opportunities to serve the community. This past year, I have learned so much about federal and state government, and I am thrilled to continue my journey. I began my time at COD as a Psychology major, and have now changed to be an intended Political Science and Criminology/Criminal Justice Double Major. Now if you\'re still reading this, you can probably tell one thing- I can talk. a lot. I love public speaking. Although I may do a lot of things, I care about a ton. When I have free time, I love trying different restaurants with friends, any crafty hobby (especially crocheting), reading, watching romcoms, or keeping up with the news! See you around! Kristen :)
