About Krista Witanowski

Krista L. Witanowski received her BA in English with a Women’s Studies Concentration from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA in 1997. While at Holy Cross she was on the Dean’s List; a Member of Sigma Tau Delta: The International English Honors Society; a member of the National Dean’s List, the Sir Thomas More Law Society, the President’s Council and was the Executive Editor of the “The Holy Cross Journal of Law and Public Policy.” She received both her JD from Syracuse Univ. College of Law and her Masters in TV, Radio and Film from the Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2002. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Witanowski worked at Blair Television, a NYC company that provided a full range of advertising sales and marketing support services to TV stations. During law school she served as Associate Notes and Comments Editor of the Syracuse College Law Review, received the scholarship for the ABA Forum on Communications Law, was a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society, and received the Law Review Editor’s Award. While in law school, she was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Women’s Law Caucus, Law Review Sanction’s Committee, and was a Communications Law 506 Teaching Assistant at the Newhouse School. After graduating from the College of Law and Newhouse in 2002, Magna Cum Laude, she began working at a Washington, DC based law firm, Wiley Rein, where she practiced media law until August 2006. In September 2006, she began to work at the FCC. During her 5 years at the FCC she worked as an attorney advisor for the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy; a legal advisor on media issues for a Chairman, a Commissioner and for the Media Bureau, and was a member of the Nat\'l Broadband Taskforce. In Jan. 2012, she became AVP of Regulatory Affairs at CTIA-The Wireless Association where she represented the wireless industry before the FCC and other federal government organizations that seek to regulate the wireless industry. In 2018, she joined Meta (Facebook) as Public Policy Manager on the Connectivity and Access Policy team. In 2023, she rejoined the Federal Communications Commission as Legal Advisor in the Office of Engineering and Technology.
