ABOUT KRISTA P.
With over 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, community engagement, and nonprofit development, I am a systems thinker and purpose-driven leader passionate about building inclusive, strategic solutions that create long-term impact. As Vice President of Regional Marketing, Communications, and Community Affairs at Huntington National Bank, I serve on the Greater Michigan Regional Executive Leadership Team, guiding strategy across a diverse portfolio of markets. I lead integrated efforts in marketing, sponsorship, internal communications, and community partnerships; working cross-functionally to amplify our brand, support business development, and deepen Huntington’s local impact.Previously, I led the statewide Development Department at Special Olympics Michigan, managing a high-performing fundraising team and overseeing all aspects of donor engagement, campaign strategy, and organizational growth. I also co-created and served as Campaign Director for the Special Olympics Unified Sports & Inclusion Center—the world’s largest Special Olympics training center, and a globally recognized model for inclusive design and collaboration. What began as a bold idea to repurpose a high school became a 17-acre campus housing 11 organizations. I led the $20 million capital campaign, built and managed the campaign cabinet, and worked directly with architects and construction partners through the RFP, design, and development process. This transformational project reflects my ability to take big ideas from concept to execution through vision, strategy, and strong relationships.Outside of my full-time work, I am also the founder of Edible Grand Rapids, a passion project that has grown into a micro-influencer platform spotlighting West Michigan’s vibrant food and travel scene. At the core of my work is a belief in the power of purpose-driven leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and bold, inclusive thinking to move communities forward.
