Nursing has been my foundation, where I discovered the power of diversity, lifelong learning, service, and teamwork. It gave me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships across our region, relationships that continue to enrich both my life and my work.From nursing, I learned the essence of leadership, not defined by a title, but by action. True leadership means putting people first. It means showing up, supporting your team, being present, caring deeply, and lifting others up.Through experience, I developed the skills of management: keeping operations running smoothly, navigating challenges with confidence, having the hard conversations, uniting teams around a shared purpose, and setting the example for what is and what could be.My path led me to executive leadership, first as Chief Nursing Officer in a critical access hospital, and now as Chief Executive Officer at Kanza Mental Health and Guidance Center. In every role, my core values remain unchanged: honesty, integrity, compassion, determination, perseverance—and above all, gratitude.
