Clinical Informatics Coordinator since 2005Almost eleven years as the Clinical Informatics Coordinator for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Extensive experience developing and managing changes within the EHR as well as education of and supporting all clinicians. Expert in planning and coordinating technology projects consistent with hospital goals and adherence to corporate objectives. Extensive management history including oversight of acutenursing operations and float pool, ambulatory pediatric clinic, acute chest pain observation unit, and total freestanding nursing home director in addition to other lead roles and responsibilities in acute care nursing. Implementation of positive patient identification barcode technology with medication scanning, specimen collection, and blood transfusion. Point of Service scanning implementation and Epic Registration System implementation to include ADT and billing functions. SurgiNet and PowerChart Maternity implementation within the last eighteen months. Working with many optimization projects for the EHR including documentation, interdisciplinary plans of care, and serve as the chair of CHS Clinical Informatics Committee. Work with the report writing team on design of reports inside the EHR and through Power Insights. Additional optimization projects currently in the planning phases. Assist with design and building of iView optimization project, Cerner change projects, and education development, training and follow-up on all projects involved in today. Serve as a Cerner SME for more than 3,200 employees.
