Provide legal guidance to enable the global development, testing, stewardship and commercialization of plant and pesticide products, including genetically modified and gene-edited plants, chemical pesticides, biologicals and microbials. Ensure that all applications/dossiers comply with FIFRA, FFD & CA, Plant Protection Act, NEPA, ESA, state-level equivalents of these, and other relevant environmental laws(including ex-US). Handle site and operations specific environmental compliance concerns including with laws such as RCRA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA and biofuels regulation. Assist globally with all legal aspects of compliance incidents, including public and government affairs implications. Draft and review agreements. Ensure data compensation and protection, with global coordination, for information released pursuant to FOIA and similar laws. Ensure compliance with Access and Benefits Sharing, Biodiversity and related laws. Counsel clients on appropriate communications and on attorney-client privilege issues. Address issues related to foreign-ownership of U.S. businesses (CFIUS, AFIDA and other statutes). Provide legal guidance to enable company to comment on any legislation, initiative, regulations or policies that implicate the company’s business, products and customers. Serve on Seeds Stewardship Leadership as well as RTP Site Leadership and Compliance teams.
