ABOUT KRISHNAMURTHY JAYANNA
Krishnamurthy is a physician, public health specialist and researcher with over 20 years of experience in global and community health. His work focuses on scaling public health innovations through program science, implementation research, health-systems strengthening and technology-enabled solutions across LMICs.He currently serves as Senior Technical Advisor – Community & Global Health at the Institute for Global Public Health, University of Manitoba, supporting initiatives across India and Africa. He also leads the India site for the Global Health Training Program and advises the India Health Action Trust.His past leadership roles include Dean (Faculty of Life & Allied Health Sciences) and Dean (Research & Innovation) at Ramaiah University. He has worked extensively with University of Manitoba and India Health Action Trust on programs in India, Africa and the Caribbean, and has held academic appointments at the University of Manitoba and St John’s Research Institute.His interest in integrative health led him to establish the Center for Integrative Health and Wellbeing in Bengaluru, developing a model for holistic wellbeing and authoring a book on integrative lifestyles.Krishnamurthy has authored 100+ publications, delivered keynote talks at 50+ national and international events and received honours including the Achanta-Lakshmipathi Oration, KACH Community Health Champion, Impact and Best Project awards, and fellowships from NIH (USA) and WHO (Geneva).He holds an MBBS (JSSMC), MD in Community Medicine (BMCRI), research-methods training at WHO, and a Canadian post-doctoral fellowship.
