About Krishna Kumar Muthusamy
My Responsibilities are, Teaching Physics and Carrying out Research. The research interests are \"Energy Storage & Optical Materials\"Energy storage materials and systems: Harvesting clean and sustainable energy efficiently is still a work in progress. Designing hybrid materials to address are highly intriguing. I am working on surface engineering of graphene oxides, carbon nanotubes, and transition metal oxides, as stated below.1. Designing materials and composites with high energy and power density for electrochemical applications.2. Surface modification of carbon nanotubes, graphene oxides with heteroatoms.3. Transition metal oxides (TMO\'s)/Carbon based nanocomposites synergistic interactions.4. Studying the effects of temperature on those hybrid systems and their phase transitions.5. Computational studies on the physical and chemical properties of the materials for energy applications. Optical materials: Perovskites with fascinating characteristics are well suited to harnessing the entire spectrum. We are working on hybrid perovskite nanocrystals, which will be employed as active materials in LEDs and solar cells as given below,1. Fabrication of optically, electrically pumped light emitting diodes.2. Extrinsically tuned perovskite phosphors for high PLQY.3. Developing solution processable inorganic-organic phosphors and surface passivation.4. Studying carrier dynamics and structural aspects, disorders in light emitting phosphors.5. Computational studies on the physical and chemical properties of the materials for optical applications. Crystal Growth: 1. Growing organic, inorganic and semi-organic crystals for the optical and nonlinear optical applications.2. Growing organic, inorganic and semi-organic crystals for the optical and nonlinear optical applications.3. Computational studies on the physical and chemical properties of the materials for optical applications. X-ray diffraction structural analysis.
