ABOUT KRISHNA SRINIVASAN IYER

Krishna Iyer is a senior Engineering and Product leader with over 22 years experience leading global engineering teams (150+ employees), building software and services across cloud and devices to millions of people. Krishna loves building and scaling collaborative teams to solve hard engineering, product and business problems; Krishna is the head of Software Engineering at BNSF | tech, Berkshire family, leading customer experience and order management, BNSF customer facing digital apps and all other customer digital workflows and experiences. Prior to this, In his 10+ years at Amazon, Krishna has led engineering teams spanning global locations, growing leaders leading independent units. Krishna led the engneering of Amazon Q Apps in AWS Next Generation Developer Experience. Krishna was also the Engineering leader for stealth cross-AWS technical initiatives, and was a Senior Certified AWS Speaker and an Engineering Manager Coach at Amazon. Krishna was the Engineering leader of Shopping Foundations for Books E-Commerce experience on Web + Native for Books Shopping across 14 marketplaces. Prior to that, Krishna was the single threaded founding Leader for Kindle and Book Series worldwide that powers JP Manga Comics (ZerotoOne)- Krishna built the teams ground up to connect related Books across formats, impacting entire lifecycle and experiences of Kindle and Physical books series, Comics, JP Manga and other Serial content.Prior to Amazon, Krishna spent 11 years at Microsoft, as Principal Eng Manager for Office365 Data Analytics, Engineering manager for orchestrating BPOS to Office365 migrations, Office Subscription Service. Krishna was a Senior Software Engr, working on Performance for Office Clients/Office Server (Sharepoint), Office Menu moving to contextual Ribbon architecture, Office client file formats, Sharepoint Latency optimization. Krishna holds a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S in Mathematics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Krishna started his career as a Software engineer in i2 Technologies, building Supply Chain software. Krishna holds a second Masters (M. S) in Operations Research from University of Texas, Austin - metaheuristics research - Tabu Search, Neural networks. As a hobbyist, Krishna is in Core Committee Indus creations, a South Indian Theatre group based in Seattle. Krishna loves swimming (Part of Bits-Pilani Swimming team).Primarily, a human being betting on human intelligence having its unique place in universe, and that intelligence is just one part of being human in a pale blue dot :)
