I am a Civil Engineer working on the Design development team at BWB. I work on multi-million pound projects from pre-planning to post-construction, predominantly in the East Midlands. Projects vary from high rise student accommodation buildings, large commercial units and highway schemes.\\\\n\\\\nPromoted from Assistant Engineer to full Engineer in one year at the company, completing the development programme a year quicker than expected by an Assistant Engineer. Hard working, competitive and curious individual that aims on understanding the fine details in design in order to ensure minimal disruption for the Contractor and always look to value engineer where possible on all jobs. Look to employ SUDs features into any drainage designs and aid with Masterplanning to ensure space for swales, basins and ponds have been considered.\\\\n\\\\nI am one of the key Engineers within the team and one of the only members of the team that can use the 3D modelling tools in Civil 3D\\\\n\\\\nDay to day tasks include the following:\\\\n\\\\n- Producing Drainage and External Works Specifications\\\\n- Producing Drainage Designs, firstly using the Modified Rational Method considering the 1 in 1 year storm event, then using MicroDrainage Network Module to run simulations for the proposed drainage system for the different rainfall events.\\\\n- Producing finished levels models and drawings using Civil 3D.\\\\n- Conducting Cut and Fill Analysis again using Civil 3D with the aim of producing an earthworks balance.\\\\n- Attending Design Team Meetings representing the firm on the Civils side of a given project.\\\\n- Mentoring graduate members of the team with a particular focus on improving Civil 3D modelling skills.\\\\n- Producing Designer Risk Assessments, H&S files and O&M manuals.\\\\n- Liaison with Contractors, Architects & Councils in order to produce collaborative designs.\\\\n- Producing S278 designs.\\\\n- Briefing Technicians and junior staff on producing Drainage and External Works Details, Kerbing and Surface Finishes drawings.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
