My love for learning and development and how it contributes to the art of discovery blossomed during a college internship at an outdoor adventure experiential education facility. I facilitated group learning through various team-building initiatives, asking questions to create metaphors and demonstrate how to apply similar skills in real life. Seeing the light bulb go on in people’s heads was inspiring! I continued my education with a master’s degree in organizational communication to further explore group dynamics and the neuroscience of leadership and organizational relationships. Since then, I’ve worked in L&D with businesses of all sizes, including Ball Aerospace, Lumen Technologies, and Aurora Organic Dairy. My colleagues view me as dependable, energetic, supportive, and willing to try new things. I am eager to invest the time and effort needed to make a positive impact and achieve organizational goals. I implement mechanisms that ensure employees receive gratitude, appreciation, and genuine caring. Drawing out the elephant in the room brings me great joy, as I’ve repeatedly seen the power of acknowledging challenges and facilitating respectful discussion that provides perspectives from all sides. I started my career in employee development at Silliker, Inc.(now Merieux NutriSciences), where I earned a promotion for delivering transformative training and development programs and processes.
