ABOUT KELLIANNE RICHARDSON
As a STEM nonprofit executive and entrepreneur, my life’s work bridges scientific communication, strategy, research, compliance and community engagement. In my day to day work I serve as Principal Investigator (PI) on a few multimillion-dollar federal and city grants, and remotely lead operations for a dedicated team of staff and contractors across four time zones. I develop standard operating procedures, ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting, and mentor emerging professionals through mirrored tasks and career guidance. My subject matter expertise is in scientific communication and data analysis, edifying processes, and leading people. I am ‘into’ culturally relevant STEM pedagogy, pharmacology, toxicology, environmental justice, starting a non profit, the Black experience in corporate and academic settings, and grants administration. My super power is the ability to explain complex topics to multiple learners for maximal perception. In short, I make hard things super accessible. I am blessed that my professional journey has allowed me to combine my passion for science, community, and love of data by co-founding an environmental education nonprofit. Our organization is based in Oregon with a growing footprint in SE Texas! Prior to ELSO I was an Intern at NIH and worked in the for profit pharmaceutical industry in departments relating to compliance, data analysis and technology transfer. I still remember my time in the lab at VCU SOM fondly.I’ve got a lot of uncaffeinated energy, optimism and enthusiasm for work. I have a killer sense of humor, never met a dance floor I didn’t like or a dessert I didn’t try. Feel free to reach out for STEM board service opportunities, doctoral committee needs (if the work is relevant to my expertise), speaking engagements or the occasional consulting if you want to learn about how to start and run a non-profit. If you’ve made it this far message me for a cup of coffee and let’s network.
