Working as a performance software engineer on the hyperscale performance software tooling team. Responsibilities include software engineering, hardware engineering, and IT/system administration related tasks. Software Engineering - Work on performance software tooling (automated hardware benchmarking, database tooling, automated infrastructure deployment and management)- Develop upon and maintain CI/CD pipelines and version control platforms (Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, GitLab)- Develop full stack web applications to display performance data and provide quality of life improvements for performance engineers Computer and Hardware Engineering - Support hyperscale hardware lifecycle (hands-on configuration, debugging, and installation of cutting edge servers)- Drive hardware bring-up initiatives (frontline collaboration with external partners)- Maintain our team\'s computer hardware lab and associated server room infrastructure IT & System Administration - Provision hardware lab and hyperscale technology access for our team and external engineers - Perform database administration of MongoDB databases holding performance data - Configure and manage networking for our hardware lab and server room (switches, routers, firewalls) Technical Mentorship - Mentor interns and new graduate engineers on the technical side Accomplishments- Transformed four critical performance workloads to Ansible roles, reducing tens of hours of software maintenance and configuration costs - Designed and developed a MongoDB database deployment tool, capable of deploying a blank complete-schema MongoDB database in under 20 seconds. Previously, each database took around two hours to manually configure - Installed five next-generation compute servers into server room testing racks - acquired hands on experience taking apart and reconfiguring industry-standard server hardware
