I am currently working on the UK\'s hardware contribution to the LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) mission. Involving the design and construction of the ultra-presicion optical benches, that send and receive laser beams between the LISA spacecraft and combine them together to produce signals that contain the signatures of gravitational waves. The optical assembly is done with the use of a specifically developed, high precision robotics system.
